What type of properties can be covered by a legal indemnity?
We provide cover for all residential and commercial property developments, as well as existing established properties.
What limit of indemnity should my clients insure for?
For further information, please refer to the CML handbook, as we are not permitted to provide advice on the limit of indemnity required for individual cases.
Can legal indemnity policies be inflation proofed?
We are able to add an ‘Escalator Clause’ to a policy, which automatically increases the limit of indemnity by a certain percentage for a specified number of years. All our OnCover policies automatically include a free 10 year, 5% per annum Escalator Clause. For more details on individual policies, please contact our FastTrack underwriting team on 01603 617617.
How can I update my client's policy cover to ensure it remains adequate?
We can consider requests to increase or extend cover. Should you require further details, please

Are there any regulations governing who can arrange legal indemnity insurance?
To arrange legal indemnity insurance on behalf of your client, you must be either:
• a Solicitor
• a Legal Executive
• an individual working under the supervision of a Solicitor,
Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer
working for a firm authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), or registered (or in the process of being registered) on the FSA’s Exempt Professional Firms register, to undertake insurance mediation.
